ICAO AVIATION ENGLISH EXAMINATION

The purpose of the ICAO English examination is to determine the professional level of language proficiency of pilots who fly outside the territory of the state where they are native speakers and thus prevent misunderstandings in radiotelephony communication. The result is language proficiency level 1 to 6, where the minimum level is ICAO Level 4.

Our organization is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to conduct ICAO English and IFR EN examinations in accordance with Part-FCL.055 requirements.

ABOUT THE ICAO AND IFR EN EXAMINATION

  • The examination takes place in person at Příbram Airport, or remotely “online” via the Teams application.
  • The language proficiency assessment takes approximately 25-30 minutes
  • The examination is recorded for archival purposes and quality control
  • At least 2 examiners are present during the examination
  • Carefully selected and Authority-approved language examiners with extensive language experience undergo standardization training every year
  • You will receive the results within a few minutes after the examination

IFR AVIATION ENGLISH EXAMINATION

Holders of instrument ratings must complete a specific language proficiency assessment in accordance with Part.FCL.055 (d). The purpose of the IFR English language proficiency assessment is to evaluate the pilot’s ability to use standard aviation and IFR phraseology during pre-flight preparation as well as during flight.
